Behind! I blame Arisia.

I spent a lot of time prepping for Arisia, where I, along with Thom, demo'd and pimped Artemis, the bestest Starship Bridge Simulator EVAR.

Evar.

You should buy it.

I learned some interesting things, watching three distinct groups play the game.

1) Young children, tweens and below.  They picked up the game in moments.  MOMENTS.  I'm not sure if it is because the game is easy to play or, more likely, STAR TREK IS IN OUR GEEK DNA.  Probably both.  They also co-operated, epically.  They were team-based from the start, and they really wanted to work together to beat the bad guys.  So very Ender's Game.

2) Teenagers.  Rambunctious, do their own thing.  Very rarely communicated, didn't want to listen to the "Captain".  Didn't fare as well as the tweens.  :D

3) 17-18+ and the 'adults'.  If they came in as a group, very serious.  In fact, one group like this managed to not only defeat the scenario in under the 15 minutes allotted, they got a majority of the ships to surrender, which requires some good teamwork and a slick Communications Officer.

Still, for my money, the best spectator entertainment value was the tweens.  :D
